Event Review | Fanhar Electronics at Expo Electrica 2026: Relays & Smart Grid Solutions

From May 26 to 28, 2026, the 29th Expo Electrica International was grandly held at the Mexico City International Convention Center, drawing the attention of the global electronics industry.

At this annual event for Latin American electronics and power technology, Fanhar Electronics, a professional relay manufacturer from China, made a brilliant appearance at Booth 1869 with a range of self-developed relay products and technical solutions, demonstrating the reliable quality and innovative vitality of Chinese relay manufacturing to the Latin American market.

Following Market Trends, Focusing on Core Components

With over a decade of considerable experience in the relay industry, Fanhar Electronics showcased its comprehensive relay solutions for critical applications, including smart meters, photovoltaic (PV) systems, electric vehicle charging stations, and industrial control. In response to the demands of the Latin American market, the company emphasized its low-power latching relays, high-withstand-voltage power relays, and industrial control relays, thereby offering robust support for smart grid development and energy transition.

A physical product display area was set up at the booth. Multiple relay models certified by UL, TUV, CQC and other international standards attracted a large number of local Mexican power utilities, meter manufacturers, and engineering integrators to stop by and consult.

Focusing on the Latin American Market, Seizing Historical Opportunities

Mexico is currently undergoing a profound energy transformation. According to the planning of Mexico’s Ministry of Energy (SENER), electricity demand is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 2.5% between 2025 and 2039, with peak load increasing by more than 50%. To address these challenges, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) plans to invest approximately USD 52 billion in grid modernization and has launched a nationwide smart meter replacement program. At the same time, the Mexican government has set a target of adding 32 GW of renewable energy generation capacity by 2030. Under this vast market potential, Fanhar Electronics, with more than a decade of technical expertise and stable manufacturing capabilities, precisely meets the urgent demand for highquality relays in the Latin American market.

Core Products and Solutions Showcase

Founded in 2014, Fanhar Electronics is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of relays. The company now has a team of nearly 500 employees, 30 fully automated production lines, and invests 6%–8% of its annual sales revenue into R&D, with more than 40 national patents granted. Its product portfolio covers industrial relays, latching relays, power relays, and safety relays, all of which have passed UL, TUV, CQC and other authoritative certifications and comply with EU RoHS and REACH directives.

The hot product recommended at this exhibition, FH27L Latching Relay, features 120A high-current switching capability, with optional single-coil or dual-coil configurations. External accessories such as manganese copper shunts and transformers can be ordered according to customer requirements. Optional auxiliary contacts are available, with flexible configuration of synchronous or asynchronous status relative to the load end. The dielectric strength between coil and contacts reaches 4kV, complying with the IEC62052-31:2005 UC4 standard. It offers strong power frequency interference resistance and good consistency. The outline dimensions are 42.0×32.0×20.8mm. Its integrable design facilitates automated installation and production. Main applications include smart meters, compound switches, smart homes, and new energy systems.

With advantages such as low contact resistance (≤1.0mΩ), high withstand voltage, and long service life, this product is widely used in smart grids, renewable energy generation, and industrial automation.

During the exhibition, the Fanhar team held in-depth discussions with purchasers, system integrators, and technical experts from Mexico and other Latin American countries. Principal subjects encompassed the utilization of smart meter latching relays in grid metering retrofits, the incorporation of DC charging pile relays in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and the implementation of industrial control relays in smart manufacturing production lines. The booth was bustling with activity and received high praise from visiting customers.

Outlook and Cooperation Invitation

The three-day Expo Electrica International 2026 concluded successfully. This presentation gave Fanhar Electronics the opportunity to show the advanced technology and comprehensive strength of Chinese relay production to the Latin American market, and at the same time, to have a better grasp of the needs of clients in Mexico and Central America. Going forward, Fanhar Electronics will continue to be driven by technological innovation, deepen its presence in the new energy and smart grid sectors, and provide highreliability relay products and solutions to customers worldwide.
